‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ Scheme Covers All Panchayats

Bhubaneswar: ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’, the State government’s ambitious rural-oriented scheme covered all panchayats today. The scheme which was launched on October 10 covered all panchayats in record 13 day programme within a period of one month. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked everyone for completing the programme in record 13 days.

The programme which was launched in Keonjhar concluded in Jajpur. A total of 16.50 lakh people took part in the programme.

Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha VK Pandian thanked the public, public representatives and administrative officials for the success of the programme.

Projects worth Rs 3397 crore are being implemented across the state under the programme.

Rs 120 crore has been sanctioned for five constituencies of Koraput district. These constituencies are Lakhmipur, Kotpad, Jeypore, Koraput and Pottangi. As many as 3078 projects will be undertaken in 240 gram panchayats under 14 blocks of these constituencies.

Similarly, Rs 65.50 crore has been sanctioned for two constituencies of Nuapada district. A total of 1765 projects will be executed in 131 gram panchayats under five blocks in these constituencies.

Besides, Rs 155.50 crore has been sanctioned for seven constituencies in Jajpur district. These constituencies are Jajpur, Binjharpur, Barchana, Bari, Sukinda, Dharmashala and Korei. A total of 4109 projects will be implemented in 311 gram panchayats under 10 blocks in these constituencies.

Public in large numbers participated in the functions organised in the five, two and seven constituencies in Koraput, Nuapada and Jajpur districts respectively.

Huge enthusiasm was witnessed among the people for the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ program. More than 70,000 people attended the program in Koraput and more than 80,000 in Jajpur. Eighty percent of them were women.

Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha scheme will preserve Jagannath culture in each village. Every place of worship will be developed. Heritage sites will be preserved. Preservation and protection of these cultural and heritage sites is essential for our future generations.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the main objective of the scheme is to develop digital infrastructure in villages.

The villagers will get internet and banking services. Science Park, skill development centres will be set up and the villages would become work hub, the CM added.

Nabin Odisha and 5T chairman VK Pandian, who coordinated the event, said that the transformation programme has created great enthusiasm among the people.

Pandian said that people in rural areas have become real partners in development in Odisha. The Chief Minister has approved the projects as per their request and demands, Pandian added.

He said the Chief Minister has presented five gifts to the women. These are —meal for Rs 5, Rs 5,000 assistance to pregnant women under Mamata Yojana, travel for Rs 5 in LAccMI bus, interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh to Mission Shakti members and health insurance of Rs 5 lakh more for women under BSKY.

Odisha Assembly Speaker Pramila Mallik, Minister Rajendra Kumar Dholakia, Minister Prithiranjan Ghadai, MP Sharmistha Sethi, MLA Pranab Prakash Das, MLA Amar Prasad Satpathy, MLA Pranab Kumar Balabantarai, MLA  Sunanda Das, MLA Ashok Kumar Bal, MLA Prabhu Jani, MLA Padmini Dian, MLA Pitam Padhi, MLA Raghuram Padal and Zilla Parishad president, members, Block Chairman, local sarpanches among others participated in the discussion through virtual mode.
