Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly on Tuesday witnessed uproar on the second day with the members of the opposition party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) demanding action against the Governor’s son for assaulting the Assistant Section Officer (ASO).
According to sources, the opposition members created a ruckus in the House, leading to a clash with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members. The situation became so volatile that Speaker Surama Padhy was forced to adjourn the House till 11:30 am.
On the first day of the first session of the 17th Odisha Assembly, the Opposition BJD and Congress MLAs walked out of the House demanding the same as soon as Governor Raghubar Das began his address.
It is pertinent to mention that the budget session of the Odisha Assembly commenced on Monday. The session will continue till September 13 with 27 working days.
