Bhubaneswar: The State witnessed vibrant Christmas celebrations as people gathered in churches in large numbers to mark the birth of Lord Jesus. Midnight carols, holy masses, and special prayers characterized the festivities, with the Christian community radiating joy and enthusiasm.
In Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, churches were packed with devotees participating in midnight sermons and carols. Similarly, in Baliguda of Kandhamal district, churches were adorned with colourful lights, stars, and decorated Christmas trees, creating a festive atmosphere.
To ensure peaceful celebrations, security measures have been put in place in Kandhamal district where 20 platoons of forces took position in in sensitive areas. DIG Sarthak Sarangi stated that security personnel were stationed at identified churches, with increased mobile patrolling to maintain law and order.
Kandhamal Collector Amrit Ruturaj urged people to maintain peace and follow the law during the celebrations. He emphasized that measures were being taken to control the spread of fake news and audio clips, ensuring peaceful celebrations across all communities.

Made with 550kg of chocolate, this 160ft long, 100ft wide masterpiece covers over 16,000 sq.ft and took 6 hours to complete.
