Bhubaneswar: The Skilled-In-Odisha Plenary Session, a key highlight of the Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, took place today, showcasing Odisha’s ambitious roadmap for becoming a premier skill hub.
The pivotal session brought together esteemed policymakers, industry leaders, academicians, and international experts to deliberate on empowering Odisha’s youth with globally competitive skills.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in his keynote address, emphasized the significance of the state’s youth. He said “Through initiatives like Skilled-In-Odisha, we are ensuring an industry-ready workforce, skilled to compete and excel in the global economy, contributing to a Viksit Odisha and a Viksit Bharat.”
Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of Skill Development & Technical Education and Industries, reiterated the government’s commitment to youth empowerment through continuous skilling, re-skilling, and upskilling for overall economic upliftment.
Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, highlighted the government’s key schemes and praised the state government’s efforts, noting that Skilled-In-Odisha will play a critical role in achieving Viksit Bharat 2047.
Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the SD&TE Department, provided an overview of Odisha’s skill advantage, emphasizing the state’s ability to cater to evolving workforce requirements. The session featured two engaging panel discussions, focusing on skilling for Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047, as well as building a globally competitive talent pool.
Notably, 16 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged with industry partners across various sectors, reinforcing Odisha’s skilling agenda. The session was attended by over 3,000 participants, including industry captains, business leaders, and students. The Skilled-In-Odisha initiative demonstrates Odisha’s commitment to empowering its youth and contributing to the realization of Viksit Odisha-2036 and Viksit Bharat-2047
