Balangir: In a significant crackdown, the Balangir Town Police busted a sex racket operating from a hotel near Rajendra Park in Balangir town.
The raid, conducted late on Tuesday night, led to the rescue of a young woman and the arrest of three youths.
The rescued woman is a resident of Cuttack, while the arrested individuals hail from Kandhamal district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by the IIC of the Town Police Station, including a lady Inspector, a lady Sub-Inspector, and other police personnel, raided the Tripati Guest House.
During the operation, the three youths were apprehended, and a case was registered under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at the Town Police Station.
“The arrested individuals have been forwarded to court, and further investigation into the matter is underway,” informed Sanjaya Kumar Mandal, In-Charge SDPO of Balangir, briefing reporters on Thursday.
