Bhadrak: Tihidi police have arrested two persons, including a former employee, in connection with the armed robbery of over Rs 7 lakh from AU Small Finance Bank at Tihidi market in Bhadrak district.
The arrested have been identified as Pralhad Raut, a resident of Talanga village under Bhadrak Rural Police Station and an ex-employee of the bank and Anil Behera, from Jamujhari village under Sadar Police Station of Phulabani in Kandhamal district.
According to police, on the night of June 11 at around 9 pm, four masked armed robbers entered the bank and looted Rs 7 lakh 54 thousand at gunpoint. Following the incident, the bank lodged a complaint at the Tihidi Police Station, prompting a swift investigation.
During the ongoing probe, police have seized Rs 2 thousand, four mobile phones, and one vehicle.
“Two others are still absconding, but we will arrest them soon. We have received clues regarding their whereabouts,” said Bhadrak Additional Superintendent of Police Arup Abhishek Behera while briefing the media.
