Bhubaneswar: Students of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) have registered an impressive performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 (Session 2), showcasing the growing academic strength of the state-run residential school system.
As many as 141 students from various OAVs have qualified for JEE (Advanced) 2026, marking a significant achievement for the institutions. Piyush Ranjan Swain emerged as one of the top performers, securing an outstanding 99.89 percentile.
The results reflect a strong overall performance by OAV students, with seven candidates scoring above the 99th percentile, 34 securing above the 95th percentile, and 63 scoring above the 90th percentile.
Education experts attribute this success to the students’ dedication and the sustained efforts of teachers and mentors across OAVs. The achievement also highlights the effectiveness of the OAV model in preparing students for national-level competitive examinations.
Congratulating the successful candidates, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said he was “very happy” with their performance.
“A total of 141 meritorious students have qualified for JEE (Advanced), bringing glory to the state. I congratulate all the successful candidates and appreciate the hard work of students, as well as the guidance of teachers and guardians,” he said, wishing them a bright future.
