Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district on June 20, where they will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a number of development projects to mark the completion of two years of the BJP government in the state.
According to official sources, President Murmu will arrive in Rairangpur on June 19, while Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to reach the town on June 20. The two leaders will participate in a major public programme at Dandabose in Rairangpur, where they will inaugurate completed projects, lay foundation stones for new initiatives and address a public gathering.
The Governor of Odisha and other dignitaries are also expected to attend the event. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will participate in the public meeting and is also scheduled to attend local programmes in Pahadpur and other locations, including visits to an exhibition.
Ahead of the high-profile visit, a state-level preparatory meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the arrangements in detail and issued necessary directions to ensure the smooth conduct of the President’s and Prime Minister’s programmes.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, Director General of Fire and Emergency Services Sudhanshu Sarangi, secretaries of various departments, senior police officials and representatives of Doordarshan, telecommunications services and other agencies. Senior officials from Mayurbhanj district, including the Collector, Eastern Range IG and Rairangpur SP, joined the meeting virtually.
Discussions focused on security arrangements, protocol management, transportation, helipad readiness, airport arrangements, accommodation for guests, medical and health services, fire safety, uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, road repairs, sanitation, telecommunications and media coordination.
Special Secretary (Home) Radha Kishan Sharma presented details of the preliminary preparations during the meeting.
Chief Secretary Garg directed all departments and the district administration to work in close coordination, undertake regular monitoring and complete all arrangements within the stipulated timeframe. She stressed the need to maintain the highest standards of security, protocol and logistical preparedness throughout the visit.
