Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll has achieved a significant milestone, with 98.65 per cent of voters covered under the enumeration form distribution process, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
Official data released on Saturday evening showed that enumeration forms have been distributed to 3,29,64,501 voters across the state as of 6 p.m., accounting for 98.65 per cent of the total electorate. The revision exercise is aimed at ensuring an accurate, updated and error-free voter list ahead of future elections.
With the distribution and collection process nearing completion, election authorities have shifted their focus to the digitisation of enumeration forms. Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who are conducting door-to-door visits to collect the forms, are simultaneously uploading the data online.
So far, 95,41,924 enumeration forms have been digitised, representing 28.57 per cent of the total voter population. Officials said efforts are underway to accelerate the digitisation process in the coming days.
The Election Commission has set June 28, 2026, as the target date for completing the distribution, collection and digitisation of all enumeration forms. Voters who have not yet submitted their forms have been urged to do so immediately through their respective BLOs.
The CEO’s office warned that failure to submit the enumeration form within the stipulated period could lead to verification and other follow-up actions as prescribed under electoral roll revision rules concerning the voter’s name.
Voters also have the option of downloading the enumeration form from the Election Commission’s website and submitting it online. For assistance related to the electoral roll revision process, citizens may contact the toll-free voter helpline number 1950.
To ensure maximum participation, the CEO’s office has launched an extensive awareness campaign across the state. Information regarding the Special Intensive Revision is being disseminated through electronic media, newspapers, radio broadcasts and cinema halls.
Appealing for public cooperation, the Chief Electoral Officer urged all eligible voters to participate in the exercise and help maintain a comprehensive, updated and error-free electoral roll.
