Bhubaneswar: Tikhiri sarpanch Chameli Ojha was granted bail by the SDJM Court on Tuesday in connection with police assault case.
She secured bail in the case related to the alleged attack on police personnel inside the Mahakalapada block office. The court granted bail on a bond of Rs 30,000 with two sureties.
Ojha was arrested on charges of abusing the Block Development Officer of Mahakalapada and assaulting two police personnel inside the block office.
She was undergoing treatment at the Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital. She was sent to judicial custody after being discharged.
Jail authorities later admitted her to the hospital again amid heavy security.
