Koraput: Vigilance officials arrested Satyanarayan Sethy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Kotpad Block in Koraput district for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to reports, Sethy will be forwarded today to the Court of the Special Vigilance Judge, Jeypore. A detailed search of his properties revealed significant assets which he could not explain satisfactorily. These include two flats (including 1 benami flat), 3 farms spread over 14 acres with mango and eucalyptus plantations, 49 valuable plots (including 17 benami plots), gold weighing approximately 940 grams, silver weighing approximately 2.5 kg, cCash amounting to Rs 5.48 lakh, bank deposits worth over Rs 60.92 lakh and one benami four-wheeler (Tata Harrier).
Koraput Vigilance registered a case against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. Further investigation is underway.
