Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday released two books highlighting the successful two-year constitutional journey of Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy.
The books titled “Presiding with Purpose – Two Years Legislative Journey of Speaker Surama Padhy” and “Two Years of Transformative Leadership Under Speaker Surama Padhy” were launched at the Odisha Assembly premises.
On the occasion, CM Majhi also inaugurated a modern Physiotherapy Centre in the Assembly complex. The new facility, initiated by the Health and Family Welfare Department, aims to provide healthcare support to current and former MLAs, their families, and all staff members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. It is expected to greatly benefit senior lawmakers in particular.
Taking to his X handle, Chief Minister Majhi said: “Over the past two years, Speaker Surama Padhy’s leadership in successfully digitizing the entire legislative process while maintaining the dignity and democratic values of the House has been highly commendable. These two books will not only document the strong journey of our democracy but will also serve as a guiding light for researchers, intellectuals, and the youth in the coming days.”
CM Majhi further described the new physiotherapy centre as a “welcoming and welfare-oriented step” and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Odisha Legislative Assembly Secretariat and the Research Wing for their commendable efforts.
The event was attended by senior officials and legislators.
