Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has intensified healthcare measures in flood-affected areas, with health camps being organised at shelters and other affected locations to provide treatment, medicines and health check-ups, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Tuesday.
In a post on X shared by the Office of the Chief Minister, Majhi said swift healthcare services were being provided to flood-affected people, along with arrangements for essential medicines and timely treatment.
The government is also strengthening measures to prevent waterborne diseases amid concerns over contamination of drinking water in flood-hit areas. Provision of safe drinking water, sanitation facilities and other preventive measures is being stepped up, he said.
Majhi said special attention was being given to vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, infants, elderly persons and those suffering from illnesses.
“The government is continuously striving to ensure health safety for affected families by providing prompt treatment in a timely manner,” the chief minister said.
The measures are part of the state’s ongoing relief and response efforts as several districts remain affected by the flood situation.
