Subarnapur: Two minor girls were rescued after they allegedly jumped into the Mahanadi River at Chadeipank village under Binika police station limits in Subarnapur district on Saturday.
According to reports, the girls jumped into the river under circumstances that are yet to be ascertained. Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of firefighters, with the help of a local fisherman, launched a rescue operation and managed to pull both girls out of the river.
The rescued girls were subsequently taken to Binika Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment.
Upon being informed, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
