Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal–north Odisha coasts continues to persist over the same region, according to the latest meteorological update.
The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. The system is likely to become more marked and move west-north-westwards across north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Meteorological officials are closely monitoring the development. Further updates will be issued as the situation evolves. Residents in the affected coastal and adjoining areas of Odisha and West Bengal are advised to stay tuned to official weather bulletins.
