Bhubaneswar: Train services on routes under the East Coast Railway’s Rayagada Division have been disrupted following a landslide between Maligura and Chhatariput stations, prompting the cancellation, short-termination and short-origination of several trains.
According to an official statement, four trains have been cancelled for specified periods, while six others will operate on curtailed routes.
The cancelled trains include the 18516 Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Express and the 18515 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Express, both cancelled up to October 20. The 18107 Rourkela–Jagdalpur Express will also remain cancelled up to October 20, while its return service, the 18108 Jagdalpur–Rourkela Express, has been cancelled from October 14 to 21.
Among the trains operating on curtailed routes, the 18005 Howrah–Jagdalpur Express and the 18447 Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express will be short-terminated at Koraput up to October 20.
Their return services — the 18006 Jagdalpur–Howrah Express and the 18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express — will originate from Koraput instead of Jagdalpur from October 15 to 22 and October 14 to 21, respectively.
Similarly, the 58501 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Passenger will be short-terminated at Koraput, while the 58502 Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Passenger will originate from Koraput instead of Kirandul, both up to October 20.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest status of their respective trains before commencing their journey and plan their travel accordingly.
