Bhubaneswar: Odisha government will introduce ‘AI for All’ as value-added course for Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) students from 2026-27 academic session, replacing Good Citizenship course in second semester.
Director of Higher Education Kali Prasanna Mahapatra has asked registrars and principals to implement the course timely. The same ‘AI for All’ course has already been introduced as Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) for non-AEDP students in second semester, he said.
The course is aimed at equipping students with basic AI knowledge and practical skills to enhance employability and prepare them for industry apprenticeship.
AEDP, which combines two years of academic study with one year of stipend-based apprenticeship training to bridge classroom and workplace gap, has expanded significantly from 30 institutions offering two subjects in 2025-26 to 81 institutions covering 11 subjects in 2026-27.
Officials said introduction of AI course will integrate emerging technologies into undergraduate education aligning learning with evolving industry needs.
