Patna: Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, received interim relief from the Patna Civil Court on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing legal dispute involving educator Roshan Anand.

While hearing his anticipatory bail plea, the court extended protection from any coercive action, including arrest, until July 3.

The court adjourned further proceedings to July 3 after seeking additional documents from the investigating authorities.

During the hearing, the court directed the police to submit an updated case diary related to the incident and a verification report on the arms licences of Faisal Khan’s personal bodyguards.

The court observed that further consideration of the anticipatory bail application would take place only after these documents are placed on record.

Until then, Faisal Khan will continue to enjoy interim protection from arrest.

The case stems from a violent confrontation between individuals associated with coaching institutes run by Faisal Khan and Roshan Anand.

According to police, tensions between the two groups escalated on the night of June 2, leading to vandalism in the area.

Police also received allegations that gunshots were fired into the air during the incident.

Members of the opposing group alleged that Faisal Khan’s personal security personnel fired the shots to create panic and intimidate the crowd.

These allegations remain part of the ongoing investigation.

Following the incident, Patna Police registered an FIR against Faisal Khan, Roshan Anand, their security personnel, and several unidentified persons under various provisions, including charges related to attempt to murder and rioting.

The two security guards allegedly involved in the firing were arrested and are currently in judicial custody.

The legal proceedings have seen several developments over the past month. Faisal Khan had earlier applied for anticipatory bail from the court on June 9.

Roshan Anand was granted regular bail on June 15.

Faisal Khan’s complaint in the case also named Roshan Anand and his brother, Prince Yadav, among the accused.

During the course of the dispute, Prince Yadav reportedly died in Nepal.

The case remains under investigation, and the Patna court is expected to take up Faisal Khan’s anticipatory bail plea again on July 3, after reviewing the updated police case diary and the verification report concerning the bodyguards’ weapon licences.
