Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall activity over Odisha during the next six days and issued Orange and Yellow warnings for several districts.
On July 1, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur districts, for which an Orange Warning has been issued. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is likely over Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Gajapati districts under Yellow Warning.
On July 2, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Keonjhar district, while heavy rainfall is likely over Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Mayurbhanj districts.
On July 3, the IMD has issued an Orange Warning for Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts where heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places. Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Gajapati districts.
On July 4, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Keonjhar districts, while heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagarh districts.
On July 5, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over Jajpur, Dhenkanal, and Keonjhar districts. Heavy rainfall is also expected over Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, and Nayagarh districts.
On July 6, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Bargarh, Sambalpur, and Angul districts, while heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts.
The IMD has advised people living in the affected districts to remain alert and take necessary precautions against waterlogging, lightning strikes, and possible landslides in vulnerable areas. Farmers and fishermen have also been asked to keep a close watch on official weather updates.
