13 Women Labourers Injured In Lightning Strike In Nabarangpur

Umerkote(Nabarangpur): As many as 13 women workers were injured in a lightning strike in Dhanpura village under Dabugaon block in Nabarangpur district on Friday. The condition of two of them is stated to be critical.

According to reports, around 15 women workers were engaged in transplanting paddy saplings in a field at Dhanpura village in the afternoon when lightning struck them. Thirteen of them fell unconscious following the lightning strike.

Fellow villagers rushed them to Umerkote Sub Divisional Hospital and got them admitted. The injured women workers have been identified as Manchabati Kandhapan (50), Dhanmati Kandhapan (38), Satyabati Kandhapan (52), Rukmani Kandhapan(30), Nikita Kandhapa (20), Ratnabati Kandhapan (55), Gomati Kandhapan (35),  Mangri Ganda (35), Mandana Ganda (54), Parbati Bhatra (18), Laxmi Munda (19), Mina Munda (24), and Rekha Kandhapan (28).

Two of these injured women Nikita Kandhapan and Parbati Bhatra have been shifted to Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital as their health condition was critical.
