Jeypore: A 27-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning in Semla village under Borigumma block on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Usha Pujari. According to family members, she was collecting firewood outside her house when a sudden thunderstorm with strong winds and rain hit the area.
She was struck by lightning and fell unconscious on the ground. Family members rushed her to the Borigumma Community Health Centre, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Police have been informed and further investigation is underway.
