Boudh: Three jawans of the 5th India Reserve Battalion (IRB) have been dismissed from service after 15.93 kg of ganja was seized from their possession at the Manamunda police barracks in Boudh district.
The accused—Havildar Kunar Singh, Constable Trilochan Rana, and Constable Neelam Baral—were arrested on March 25 following a raid. Police recovered 5 kg of ganja from Singh, 7 kg from Rana, and 3 kg from Baral.
The jawans, initially suspended, were later terminated after an inquiry confirmed their involvement in smuggling.
The 5th IRB Battalion had been stationed in Manamunda to combat Naxal activities and ganja trafficking, making their misconduct a serious breach of duty.
