Dhenkanal: Kamakshyanagar police in Dhenkanal district arrested three members of a robbery gang on Tuesday.
Police have seized one gun, two rounds of ammunition, three bombs, one sword, one bhujali and a bike from their possession. However, five robbers managed to flee the spot.
According to the police, acting on a tip-off that at Altuma Raja Mahotsav ground an 8-member robbery gang was planning to commit robbery Kamakshyanagar police conducted a raid. On seeing the police members of the robbery gang started to run and escape.
While police managed to capture three members of the gang, five managed to flee.
The accused have been identified as Minz Ibrahim Beg alias Fakira of Anantpur Sahi under Kamakshyanagar police limits, Biswajit Behera alias Biki of Godi Sahi, and Anil Kumar Nayak of Dhenkanal Sadar police station limits. The accused have been forwarded to court.
Kamakshyanagar IIC Dhiren Behera has said that the other robbers who managed to flee will be arrested soon.
