Puri: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday visited the Shree Jagannath Temple and offered prayers.

Singh said he prayed for peace, prosperity and the well-being of people across the country and Odisha. Describing the visit as a blessing, he said he felt fortunate to have received the opportunity to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

During his visit to the temple, senior servitor Hajuri Krushnachandra Khuntia accorded him a warm welcome.

Speaking to reporters on the upcoming panchayat elections in Odisha, Singh alleged that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated under the BJP government and claimed that people have started losing faith in the ruling dispensation. He said the Aam Aadmi Party would play an important role in the forthcoming rural polls.

Earlier in the day, Singh attended a workers’ meeting with party functionaries in Bhubaneswar and addressed AAP workers. He also criticised the Central government over various issues and urged party workers to strengthen the organisation and prepare for the panchayat elections in the state.
