Bhubaneswar: Australian Consul General in Kolkata, Bernard Lynch, on Tuesday held a courtesy meeting with Odisha’s Minister for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, at the minister’s official residence.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed various initiatives and developments in Odisha’s industries, skill development, and technical education sectors. Lynch praised Paradip Port for emerging as a major hub and securing the top position in the country for cargo handling.
The discussions also focused on strengthening future partnerships between Odisha and Australia in industry, skill development, and technical education. Key points included boosting industrial investment and expanding opportunities for advanced technical education for the state’s youth.
Commending the Odisha government’s welfare initiatives over the past two years, particularly in the industrial and skill development sectors, Lynch expressed optimism about deeper collaboration with Australia. Officials said the partnership is expected to significantly contribute to the state’s economic growth and development of a skilled workforce.
