“Balangir Is Soul Of Western Odisha”: CM Majhi Attends Balangir Day Programme

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the Balangir Day event organized by Balangir Din Committee at Kosala Art Mandal Grounds. He hailed Balangir as the “soul of West Odisha,” acknowledging its significant contributions to language, literature, politics, and culture.

Majhi recognized the district’s rich history, noting its formation in November 1949. Praising the region’s rich art and culture, he emphasised that a prosperous society is essential for a thriving cultural landscape.

The Chief Minister said that welfare projects worth Rs. 890 crores were initiated today in Balangir district, reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling the people’s hopes and dreams. “This is not my last visit; it’s just the beginning,” he assured.

Majhi paid tribute to late Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo, founder of Kosala Art Mandal in 1940. Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo highlighted the district’s art and culture, outlining the new government’s initiatives.

Prominent attendees included State Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Lok Sabha MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, Rajya Sabha MP Niranjan Bishi, Balangir MLA Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Kantabanji MLA Laxman Bag, Titilagadh MLA and others.
