Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police’s week-long exhibition on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita concluded with a massive turnout of over 1 lakh visitors, marking a significant milestone in public legal awareness and community policing. The event, held at the IDCO Exhibition Ground, showcased the new laws that replaced colonial-era statutes, aiming to establish a more transparent and citizen-centric justice system.
The exhibition featured immersive displays, including a crime scene setup, police control room, and court environment, highlighting the state’s shift towards scientific evidence and modern transparency tools. Special displays showcased the Odisha Police’s capabilities, including the Pigeon Service and Communication Services.
The event drew a diverse crowd, including bureaucrats, judiciary members, lawyers, students, and grassroots workers. Dramatic skits in Odia helped bridge the gap between complex legal jargon and the common man. The exhibition’s success is reflected in the 166% surge in Zero FIR registrations and 87.6% conviction rate in the past year.
