Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, celebrated its 43rd Foundation Day on Sunday with a grand ceremony held at its headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Minister of School and Mass Education Nityananda Gond highlighted the pivotal role of education in nation-building.
“Education is the benchmark of a Samruddh Bharat (Prosperous India). It helps build a healthy society by shaping individual personalities,” the Minister stated. He also lauded CHSE staff for their unwavering commitment in guiding generations of students over the past 43 years.
As part of the celebration, a souvenir titled ‘Pragyan’—the annual NSS report—was released by Minister Gond along with other dignitaries. The event also saw the felicitation of students who excelled at the SGFI National Sports Competition. A cultural highlight of the day was the staging of the social play ‘Gurudakshina’ by Council staff.
Additional Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, Subhashree Nanda, and President of the Board of Secondary Education, Srikant Tarai, were the guests of honour. CHSE Chairman Mrunal Kanti Das delivered the welcome address, while CHSE Secretary Subhrabala Behera conducted the programme.
A large number of students, intellectuals, educationists, and Council staff participated in the celebration, marking the day with enthusiasm and pride.
