Bhubaneswar: Coastal Odisha continued to reel under hot and humid conditions on Thursday, with several places recording temperatures above 36°C and heat index crossing the 50°C mark by 11:30 AM.
According to the latest weather update by the India Meteorological Department, Chandbali was the hottest at 36.8°C with a heat index of 52°C, followed by Balasore (36.2°C, feels like 52°C) and Bhubaneswar (36.4°C, feels like 51°C). Other places like Gopalpur recorded 36.0°C, while Puri and Paradip recorded comparatively lower temperatures of 34.8°C and 34.2°C respectively.

Meteorologists have warned that the combination of high temperature and humidity is making it feel significantly hotter than the actual recorded temperature.
People have been advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure, especially between 11 pm and 3 pm, and wear light cotton clothes.
No immediate relief from this hot and humid spell is expected until the southwest monsoon arrives in the state in the next 3–4 days.
