Bhadrak: In a late-night operation, Bhadrak Police conducted a series of surprise raids across multiple hotels and public restrooms, uncovering an illegal prostitution racket.

Acting on credible information, a team led by Bhadrak City DSP Sambit Majhi launched the operation, which continued from evening until late into the night.

Police sources revealed that in a daring undercover move, a police officer posed as a customer and visited a hotel near the bypass. After negotiating a deal, the officer rented a room with a sex worker. Shortly after, the police team stormed the room, rescuing the officer and apprehending the sex worker.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the hotel staff had accepted ₹2,000 from the officer, leading to the detention of the sex worker and the hotel’s caretaker.

The raids extended to other locations, including hotels in Charampa and Asura. At a tailoring shop near Charampa, police apprehended a sex worker and a young man from a restroom. Further intelligence led to the rescue of another sex worker operating from a hotel.

Police sources revealed that sex workers were operating from various hotels and rented houses across the district. Police have intensified efforts to identify and raid these locations. So far, three sex workers have been rescued, and two young men have been arrested. More arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.

Further details are awaited as the raids continue.
