Cuttack: The district administration on Sunday announced a ban on the use of DJs during the Durga Puja idol immersion procession in Cuttack to check noise pollution.
However, the police clarified that sound boxes can be played at a low volume and cultural programmes can continue till midnight. Only six sound boxes will be allowed within 65 decibels of sound.
Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda informed the media after a meeting with the Cuttack Mahanagar Purbanchala Shanti Committee.
Panda further said that strict action would be taken against all who would be found collecting donations for Durga Puja forcibly.
