Elderly Man Run Over By Train In Dhenkanal

Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident occurred near Duburi-Budhapanka railway line in Dhenkanal district, where an elderly man lost his life after being hit by a goods train.

The deceased, identified as Gumani Behera, a resident of Mathakaragola village under Kamakhyanagar police station, reportedly walked onto the railway track while heading to his farm.

Eyewitnesses claim that a speeding goods train suddenly approached, and despite attempts to move to safety, Behera was dragged and fatally injured. The impact was severe, resulting in his instantaneous death.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local people and police rushed to the scene. The body was subsequently taken for post-mortem examination as part of the investigation process.
