Bhubaneswar: Despite the continued advancement of the southwest monsoon to some parts of Telangana and Chhattishgarh, heat wave conditions are likely to remain unchanged in Odisha for the next five days.
“The Northern Limit of Monsoon now passes through 20.5°N/60°E, 20.5°N/63°E, 20.5°N/70°E, Navsari, Jalgaon, Akola, Pusad, Ramagundam, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram, 19.5°N/88°E, 21.5°N/89.5°E, 23°N/89.5°E and Islampur.” a mid-day report by IMD stated.
The heat wave conditions have prevailed at more than one place over the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bolangir, Ganjam, Boudh, Gajapati, Khorda & Nuapada.
Light to moderate rainfall has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Balasore & Kalahandi. However, dry weather has continued over the rest districts of Odisha.
Maximum temperatures have marked a noteworthy fall at one or two places, an appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, and a noticeable rise at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha & North Interior Odisha. No large change elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 44.0°C was recorded at Nuapada, and the lowest minimum temperature of 23.2°C was recorded at Boudh in the plains of Odisha.
