Jharsuguda: A massive fire broke out at Jharsuguda railway station around 11 am today, believed to be caused by a short circuit in the Air Condition. The station was quickly engulfed in smoke, prompting evacuation of passengers from the platforms.

Fire brigade teams rushed to the scene and are battling to control the blaze. RPF, GRP, and Jharsuguda police are managing the situation.

The fire has disrupted power supply, damaging the ticket counter, station master’s chamber, and DTC chamber, with the extent of damage yet to be ascertained.

Train services are expected to remain suspended till the situation is normalized and electrical communication is restored.
