Flood In Jalaka River: Water Enters Basta Police Station; SDPO Office Submerged

Bhubaneswar: The swollen Jalaka river has wreaked havoc in Basta area of Balasore district after floodwater breached embankments and entered the town.

With the river flowing above the danger mark, key government offices including the police station, SDPO office and electricity office have been inundated, bringing daily operations to a standstill.

As per reports, around 3-feet of water has entered the Basta police station premises. More than 3-feet of water has been seen accumulated in the SDPO office and electricity office as well. Due to waterlogging in the police station premises, movement of police personnel and daily official work has been disrupted.

The district administration is monitoring the situation as the water level of the river continues to rise.
