Sundargarh: A forest worker was critically injured in an elephant attack near an Ashram under Tamda Ranger area of Sundargarh district on Friday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred when a forest patrol team was tracking the movement of tuskers near the Ashram forest. Unexpectedly, the tuskers charged at the team. While many of the forest staff managed to escape, one worker could not flee in time. The elephants attacked him, causing severe injuries to his legs and arms, leaving him unable to move.
The forest department searched for him throughout the night but could not locate him. After eight hours, the man was finally rescued on Saturday morning and immediately taken to a nearby hospital. He is currently receiving treatment in Rourkela Government Hospital.
