Bhubaneswar: Former Congress MLA K Suryo Rao joined Biju Janta Dal at Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
Rao was inducted into the ruling party in the presence of BJD senior leaders including Sasmit Patra. He blamed the grand old party for ignoring him despite working for the development of the party constantly.
Notably, the former Paralakhemundi MLA had resigned from the Congress in June 2019 after he was defeated in Assembly elections.
Rao was elected to the State Legislative Assembly from Paralakhemundi constituency in 2014. He fought the 2019 elections from the seat and lost to BJP’s K Narayana Rao.
