Sundargarh: In a tragic incident, a Class X student of Manikeswari High School in Tumulia village, under Hemgiri police station limits, allegedly died by suicide on Thursday.
The deceased, identified as Chandini Dila, a resident of Patrapali, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her hostel room.
According to reports, Chandini had participated in a farewell meeting organized for Class X students at the school. However, she abruptly left the event midway and returned to her hostel room, where she took the extreme step. A suicide note was later recovered from her room, though its contents have not been disclosed.
After being rescued, Chandini was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Hemgiri police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are examining the circumstances leading to the tragic event.
