Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday appointed 2010-batch IAS officer Sudhansu Mohan Samal as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) as part of a minor bureaucratic reshuffle.
Samal, who is currently serving as Managing Director of OMC, will continue to hold additional charge as Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division), Cuttack, according to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.
With Samal’s appointment, the additional charge of OMC Chairman held by IAS officer Girish S N will cease from the date Samal assumes charge.
In another change, 1998-batch IAS officer Suresh Kumar Vashishth has been appointed Principal Secretary of the General Administration and Public Grievances Department. He was serving as Principal Secretary of the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, with additional charge of the General Administration and Public Grievances and Parliamentary Affairs departments. He will now continue to hold the additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs.
Meanwhile, 2010-batch IAS officer Dr Brundha D, currently Mission Director of the National Health Mission with additional charge as Chief Executive Officer of the State Health Assurance Society, has been appointed Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department.
