IMD Prediction: Heavy Rainfall To Lash Several Odisha Districts For Next Four Days

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in several districts of Odisha over the next four days.

According to the IMD report, isolated places in 16 districts including Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Nabarangapur are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall (7-11 cm) on September 24.

Going by IMD’s forecast for September 25, thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur.

For September 26, isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Nuapada may witness heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm).

“Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Bolangir”, read IMD’s weather alert for September 27.

The IMD has cautioned residents to be prepared for adverse weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
