Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the continuation of light to moderate rainfall throughout the state until July 14.
For July 9 to 10, the regional centre of IMD forecasts light to moderate rain, along with thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Odisha and one or two places over districts of North Odisha.
For the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the IMD has predicted a maximum temperature of 33°C and a minimum of 25°C today.
According to reports on Monday, scattered rainfall occurred at a few places in the districts of Koraput, Nayagarh, Balasore, Gajapati, and Rayagada.
The maximum rainfall of 51.6 mm was recorded in Koraput, and the minimum rainfall of 3.5 mm was recorded in Rayagada yesterday.
The state received a total rainfall of 211.6 mm from July 1 to July 8, which is about 26% less than the expected amount of rainfall.
The districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Boudh, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, and Nuapada are experiencing a rainfall deficit affecting cultivation.
Meanwhile, Balasore has received the least amount of rain compared to other districts in the state.
