Bhubaneswar: In view of the prevailing intense heatwave conditions, the District Project Office (RTE-SS), Jagatsinghpur has issued strict instructions for all schools in the district to change their timing with immediate effect.
According to the official order, all government, government-aided, and privately managed schools in Jagatsinghpur district will now function only from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM until further orders.
The decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety and health of school-going children amid the scorching summer heat.
The order further directs school authorities to take necessary precautionary measures during school hours. These include ensuring the availability of safe drinking water and sufficient ORS packets for students. Outdoor activities and heavy physical exercises have also been restricted to prevent heat-related illnesses. The authorities have warned that any violation of this order will be viewed seriously and strict action will be taken against the concerned schools as per rules.
