Bhubaneswar: Former Chief Minister and Opposition Leader Naveen Patnaik has strongly criticized the Odisha government’s decision to cancel the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) exam, due to question paper leak.
Patnaik expressed disappointment, stating that the government’s incompetence has shattered the dreams of thousands of aspirants.
Taking to his X handle, Patnaik questioned the government’s intentions, pointing out that around 18 recruitment exams have been cancelled in the past 18 months. He urged the government to ensure transparency and regularity in conducting exams, emphasizing the need to safeguard the aspirations of Odisha’s youth.
“After the exam cancellation, dreams of lakhs of children have been shattered. By cancelling the ANM exam, the state BJP government has once again pushed thousands of aspirants’ futures into darkness. How many more children’s dreams will be shattered, how many more futures will be toyed with? Exam after exam being cancelled, postponed, shows the BJP government’s incompetence. In 18 months of government, around 18 recruitment exams have been cancelled. What does the government want to show? Will the hopes and dreams of the state’s children continue to be crushed like this? The government should wake up and ensure that all exams are conducted regularly and with transparency.“, read Patnaik’s post.
The incident has sparked concerns about the government’s ability to conduct fair and transparent examinations, with Patnaik demanding action to restore trust in the system.
Notably, the ANM exam was cancelled after allegations of a question paper leak surfaced, prompting widespread protests and demands for accountability.
