Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out in the garbage heap near the Nakachana gate of the Sri Gundicha temple in Puri on Saturday morning.
It is suspected that miscreants set the garbage dump on fire which engulfed the entire heap. The fire tenders unit rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control by the fire brigade. There was no casualty in the incident.
On being informed, firefighters reached the spot and launched an operation to douse the fire.
Due to the heavy smoke, it was difficult for the fire brigade unit to control the fire.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
