Bhubaneswar: As many as 14 places in Odisha recorded maximum temperature of 40°C and above on Wednesday.
According to the evening weather bulletin of the regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here, Nuapada remained the hottest place in the State by recording a maximum temperature of 42.2°C followed by Jharsuguda 42.1°C, Boudh 42°C, Sambalpur 41.8°C, Rourkela 41.2°C, Keonjhar 41.2°C, Sundargarh 40.9°C, Baripada 40.6°C, Talcher 40.6°C, Bargarh 40.5°C, Sonepur 40.2°C, Hirakud 40.1°C, Angul 40.1°C and Dhenkanal 40°C.
Similarly, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperatures of 38°C and 37.5°C respectively.
The IMD in its midday weather bulletin has stated that conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 3-4 days.
