Bhubaneswar: Odisha Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Saturday said there is no shortage of rice in the state, with sufficient stocks available across all districts. He assured that the public distribution system is functioning smoothly.

The Minister said the state government has ensured an uninterrupted supply of rice to beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, under which each eligible person is now receiving 10 kg of rice.

“There is no shortage of rice distribution anywhere in Odisha. Adequate stocks are available in all districts, and the supply system is running smoothly. After the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, all households are receiving sufficient quantities of rice,” Patra told mediapersons.

He said the state government is closely monitoring the availability and distribution of food grains to ensure that beneficiaries do not face any difficulties.

The Minister also informed that relief materials have been supplied to flood-affected areas of the state. Dry food items, including flattened rice (chuda), biscuits, and other essential materials, have been provided to people affected by the flood situation.

“Dry food has already reached the flood-hit areas. Chuda, biscuits, and other food items have been supplied, and there is no shortage of essential food materials,” Patra said.
