Bhubaneswar: A youth who was not a student of Utkal University was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the Vani Vihar campus on Monday, raising fresh concerns over safety at Odisha’s premier educational institution.

The deceased, identified as Biswa, worked as a driver for a youth leader of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). Initial suspicion suggests he may have died after falling from the roof of a hostel building.

His blood-stained body was discovered near Boys’ Hostel No. 3 in the early hours. Police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to Capital Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Authorities are probing the circumstances leading to his death, while questions remain over how an outsider gained access to the campus.
