Rourkela: Rourkela Police on Tuesday arrested notorious ganja smuggler Lengdu Majhi and seized 2.1kg of the contraband from his possession.
According to reports, this morning, during routine patrolling, SI Sebati Singh of Plant Site Police Station and her team received credible information that Lengdu Majhi was attempting to smuggle ganja. Based on this tip-off, the police laid a trap to apprehend the accused. Lengdu was moving near the railway overbridge on Gandhi Road in Rourkela at the time. Taking advantage of the situation, the police team conducted a sudden raid.
During the raid, the police seized 2.1 kg ganja from Lengdu. He has been arrested following the seizure .
The police has stated that Lengdu has a total of 21 cases registered against him across four police stations in Rourkela. Out of these, 13 cases are at Plant Site Police Station, 4 at Sector-3 Police Station, 3 at SRP Rourkela Police Station, and 1 at Sector-19 Police Station.
