Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will embark on a three-day visit to Gujarat from May 5 to 7 as part of the Odisha government’s ongoing efforts to attract investments into the state, following successful roadshows in Hyderabad and Kolkata.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to cover four cities during the tour, engaging with entrepreneurs and industry leaders to position Odisha as a preferred investment destination. A major investor roadshow will be held in Ahmedabad on May 5, alongside roundtable discussions and one-to-one meetings with leading industrialists. These engagements are expected to facilitate the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and secure investment intents across key sectors.
According to the official release, the state will pitch high-potential sectors including textiles and apparel, chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, and pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, aiming to attract capital from western India into Odisha’s expanding industrial ecosystem.
As part of efforts to strengthen port-led development, the delegation will visit Mundra Port on May 6 to explore opportunities in logistics and port-based industries. On May 7, an investors’ meet will be held in Vadodara, followed by a visit to Kevadia to further deepen industrial linkages.
The high-level delegation will include Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain along with senior government officials.
Ahead of the visit, Majhi said Odisha’s robust infrastructure and skilled workforce have positioned it as an attractive investment hub. He expressed confidence that the Gujarat tour would open new avenues for investment, generate employment, and contribute significantly to the state’s vision of becoming a prosperous economy by 2036.
