Bhubaneswar: In a significant decision, the Odisha government has extended the interest-free loan scheme for women’s self-help groups, allowing them to borrow up to ₹10 lakh without any interest. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved the proposal to continue the scheme for the financial year 2025-26 and beyond.
The scheme, which was initially set to expire on March 31, 2025, has been extended to further support women’s entrepreneurship and empowerment in the state.
The Chief Minister believes that this initiative will help create women entrepreneurs and ‘Lakhpati Didi’ in Odisha, strengthening the rural and urban economy through women’s participation.
By providing financial support, the state government aims to boost women’s entrepreneurship and contribute to the overall development of the state’s economy.
